Why?

These are nice cards.  Chris had some at auction today that went way cheap.  If they weren't during the middle of my workday I would have picked up the ones I still need.   This is a travisty.

These are great cards and going for super low prices.Huh.  What is going on Huh

Any ideas?

Is this Trilogy you are talking about?

I know what you mean about Potter but with Trilogy it's probably just because of the high insert rates and I am enjoying that every step of the way Smiley

Beckham:

The reason I think the cards are selling so low is burn out.  This is the last set and most everything has been done before with a few minor exceptions.  People are not willing to send money because they really see no value in the cards.  You will have your collectors get them all as expected but the frenzy is over in my opinion.  Sellers are constantly lowering even their Buy It Now prices as they don't want to get stuck with cards.  I watch ebay every day and see this happenning.  Don't get me wrong - I think this is a great looking set of cards and inserts but it comes with too many repeats.

I am still surprised that cards that are 1:691 (or something like that) can be picked up for $30.  I still have 5 costumes to go to complete this final set!  And I did get all the auto's from this set.  I think I will be able to pick up the Sam, Pippin, Eowyn golden hall, Bilbo and Witch king for about $100 or less.   That is a steal IMO.

Roz certainly was talking about Trilogy, although you know my take on HP at the moment....can you say bitter!

You can't complain if buying really but for the people selling its harsh, shifting cards at the moment are just crap for dealers

Beckham:

I agree with you that this Trilogy set is a buyers market vrs a Sellers.   Smiley  I am one Auto shy of the set now - Arwen and 3 Clothing cards - Bilbo, Pippin, and Sam!  I agree that they can be picked up inexpensively compared to other sets.  Thank goodness!!  Smiley

My best Clothing card buy was Eowyn's Golden Hall White dress for $21.00!!  Smiley

Hee hee Ed I had no idea that you were collecting the full run of this Grin did the "cutting edge coolness of chrome" win you over (sorry but that line is straight out of the sell sheet and it makes me cringe each time I see it).

Chrome is the most amazing set if you have not collected full runs of previous sets, you can finally pick up FIGWIT for an amount he truely deserves etc Smiley

I'm really glad it's worked out this way  Cheesy I decided loooooong ago not to buy boxes/cases & I stuck to it!!  Sorry folks, but the base set is the only thing I have that reaalllly impresses me.

To date, I've got the base, Elessar, Proudfoot and Sauron autos. To complete my set, I'm looking for Arwen, Aragorn and Faramir autos. No Figgy for me!!!!! Certainly no cossie cards unless I see summat that really makes me go YUMMMM!!! at Memo on Sunday  Grin Grin

Had the mighty Topps come up with a few original autos For Example Worm, Treebeard, Ioreth (bet she's in the EE!!) I may have got more worked up. Come on guys, they can't even sort out the Smeagol debacle!?!?!?

Do we need more Figgies and Eowyns cossies??? I think not  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Not your best set yet Mrs/Mrs/Ms Topps. OK, so it could be bad on a Spidey/X-men 2 scale  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy But from where I'm sitting - It ain't ever so good!?!
